Join our award-winning boutique accounting practice located in the South Eastern suburbs who specialise in the taxation of estates and trusts.  BNR Partners are the market leader in our field, working on a national scale with both listed Trustee Companies and legal practices.  In addition to providing taxation compliance services, we act in an advisory capacity on many complex estate taxation matters referred to us by the legal fraternity.

 
The role

We are seeking a full-time administration assistant to support all aspects of servicing our growing portfolio of clients. Ideally suited to candidates with previous public practice experience, this role will allow you to develop a broader skill set liaising with legal practitioners and handling the sensitivities of administering estate taxation matters.

The right person will have ample opportunity to grow within our business so someone with a hunger and a strong attention to detail will thrive in this position.

Predominately, this role is to work collaboratively with the administration team which will include but not be limited to the following tasks:

  • Handling communications via reception, telephone and electronic mediums with both clients and legal practices
  • Welcoming and greeting every person coming into the office in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
  • Collation and recording of inbound/outbound mail, including ATO correspondence
  • Invoicing and debtors management
  • Database maintenance as required
  • Scheduling meetings
  • Lodgement of documents with the ATO
  • Monitoring and managing office and kitchen supplies
  • Keeping the office and meeting rooms tidy and presentable
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required

 

The person

The successful applicant will require the following attributes:

  • Minimum of 4 years in a previous public practice role
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient Microsoft suite skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills, be self-motivated and take ownership of processes
  • Be a team player who can work well under pressure, but also able to work autonomously as required
  • Demonstrates trustworthiness, integrity and discretion with highly sensitive information
  • MYOB AE & CAS 360 experience considered favourably

The role

We are looking to appoint a full-time senior business services accountant with public practice experience.

This is a significant role in our practice which will provide taxation, accounting and advisory services to a wide range of clients.  If you love variety and challenge this is the role for you.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, individuals and SMSFs.
  • Identifying and resolving complex issues relating to taxation affairs and structures though the estate administration process.
  • You will also have the opportunity to broaden your skill base assisting in the preparation of financial statements for not-for-profit entities, testamentary trusts and special disability trusts.
  • Preparing of interim accounts for tax planning.
  • Preparation of activity statements.
  • Day to day handling of client queries.

Training will be provided however previous public practice experience is required.

 

Keys to success

The successful applicant will require the following attributes:

  • Minimum 7 years’ Australian experience in public practice (SMSF experience is not mandatory)
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient Microsoft suite skills and strong IT skills
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take ownership of processes
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
  • Be a team player, but also able to work autonomously as required
